A free analyzer/signal generator plugin to analyse the frequency and phase responses of any plugin (or hardware). This plugin started as a developer tool but has been simplified so that it doesn't require a complicated setup to work. Simple, but with a few tricks up its sleeve. Create high quality sounds with ease. Podolski 2020 Podolski is a simple, CPU-efficient virtual analogue synthesizer. Basically a cut down version of FilterscapeVA with just one oscillator, one filter, one envelope and two LFOs, it also features a Zebra-style arpeggiator/sequencer plus chorus and delay effects. Podolski's specialities are the Click parameter (emphasizes the filter attack) and its ability to seamlessly morph between three waveforms (WaveWarp). For this current version, the factory library was overhauled, the TUC Toys soundset was integrated into the main library, all factory presets have been tagged and Podolski is now NKS-ready. Podolski 2012 Podolski has been refurbished with some new presets by Howard Scarr, has undergone a GUI makeover (two new skins) and supports a wider range of plug-in formats. Triple Cheese, winner of the 2006 KVR Developer Challenge, is a truly unique freeware synthesizer. No traditional oscillators or wavetables, no FM or phase distortion and no analogue modeled filters here. A touch unusual and a little cheesy, Triple Cheese is quite capable of some surprising sounds. Sound generation Triple Cheese avoids classic synthesis techniques—no subtractive, frequency modulation (FM) or additive synthesis. Rather, it employs various types of comb filter, often in series, to generate and modify sound. Think of the comb filters as very short chromatically tuned delays. Three modules are arranged in series and either generate their own sound, or process the output of the previous module. The features for each module can result in sounds that might seem a little “cheesy” or retro (think early 1980s digital synths). But when pushed, you will find Triple Cheese creates some surprisingly lush sounds. Extra cheese For extra flavour, Triple Cheese comes with a choice of delay-based effects. Although basic, the essentials are covered: chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, or reverb. A special LFO with speed and depth controls can be used to give your sound extra movement and warmth. Another way to add flavour: parameter modulation. Many of the key parameters in Triple Cheese can be modulated from a variety of sources: Select one of the classic performance controls (modwheel, velocity, pressure, key follow etc.) or an automatic modulation source (envelope, LFO or Vibrator). Introducing the ultimate mastering tool. This versatile mastering compressor can handle even the most dynamic of tracks. Convergence features up to 10 bands of compression and as low as 2 bands. Does your track only need a 4 band compressor? No problem! It is trivial to add or remove bands and to adjust the crossover frequencies for them. The Compressors Convergence uses crossover filters with -6dB gain at the crossover frequency that sum together to create a perfectly flat frequency response. These -6dB crossovers also introduce the least amount of phase shift possible while still being low on CPU usage. The compressors are designed to have a digital feel to their attack and release timing to be as precise as possible. The Displays Convergence comes with several displays that are fine tuned to help you visualize what effect your tweaks have on the incoming audio. The main display is a spectral analyzer with controls to adjust the crossovers for each band. This allows you to easily dial in the frequencies based on which frequencies are most prominent. Each band also has an envelope display, a compression display, and a gain reduction display. The envelope display helps give you an idea of how attack and release times will affect the compression. The compressor display shows how the threshold and ratio controls will affect the compression as well by graphing input versus output levels. Finally the gain reduction display shows input levels and output levels over time so that you can easily see transients and how they are being affected by the compressor. Soloable Bands One of the most useful features of Convergence is the ability to solo bands. You can simply hold down the control key and left-click a band to solo it to really dial the compressor settings. Multiple bands can be soloed simultaneously. Free Version This plug-in is also available as a free version which works exactly the same as the full version except that it is limited to 2-4 bands rather than the 2-10 that the full version boasts. Sadly, most digital audio equipment only has peak meters. This is readily understandable as you want to avoid digital clippings by all means. However, badly chosen meter ranges and scales often render these meters useless. And the lack of average meters does not exactly facilitate gain staging.
