Normally a small pack of samples have 50 to 150 samples, although big packs can go up to 300 to 1000 samples. Experts suggest start with small pack then go for big packs. Maximizing audio quality Last but not the least while making a sample pack one   has to ensure that recording must be done in highest possible quality. Furthermore samples are mostly released at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, 24-bit. In experts opinion using mp3s and lower quailty audio file recording   wont be good for your samples.
